My name is Alka. Having attained my Msc. and Mphil, I completed my B.Ed. and spent many years as a teacher in colleges and schools, deriving great joy and satisfaction from nurturing and developing young minds to help them attain a great future.
However, being a Gayatri sadhak from an early age, I always wanted to help and serve the society in a more comprehensive manner. My sadhna of Ma Gayatri—introduced to me by my late father Shri S.N upadhyay (my first guru), who himself was associated with the shantikunj mission in Haridwar—inspired and guided me to imbibe the wisdom of Jyotish Vidya when I came across it. I started learning and practicing astrology from 2008 and between 2015 to 2017 solidified my knowledge after receiving formal training, that is, my Jyotish Praveen and Jyotish Visharad from ICAS, established by Dr. B.V. Raman in November 1984.
With the blessings of my Guru, I am now walking the path of my true calling of utilizing my knowledge of Jyotish Vidya to help myself and others realize their fullest potential.
